Just a quick thought here, but I really, really want to be a fiets-taxi driver.
Can’t you just see me pedalling around town all day in one of these???
The urge is overwhelming. I think it comes from sitting at home working for 4 years. I’m ready to get out of the house and get some fresh air. (And make money of course.)
Too bad I want to do this just as the bad weather is approaching, but what doesn’t kill me will certainly make me stronger.
+ + +
The highlight of my birthday (the actual day, not the night out over the weekend) was buying a lovely pair of vegan winter boots and then sitting at home and watching Evil Dead, which I added to my horror movie collection for a cool €2.50. What a steal!
There’s just something about awesome 80’s horror movie special affects that tickles me to the core. Although the acting was so atrocious that I was yelling at the TV set.
Also found for €2.50: Black Sheep, Saw (the original- the rest were crap!), The Descent (I have a special place in my heart for this one), and Shawshank Redemption.

Vegan boots & Horror Movies: BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!

I LOVE Black Sheep! It doesn’t hurt that the guy who helped with the sound effects/SFX is Age Pryor, a NZ musician I’m a huge fan of and have exchanged the odd e-mail with over the past few years. You can read about some of the sound effects recordings here: http://www.musicofsound.co.nz/blog/black-sheep-fx-recording-4

Seaweed! That’s insane! I started studying film a little while back and one of the most interesting things we did was take a film clip and find and distort sounds to make the sound effects. Fascinating stuff! Thanks for the link!

Awww I just had a look at the brand (Graceland) and couldn’t find any online store! Maybe you’ll have more luck? There was a whole wall of the same brand (all fake leather) so I hope you have better luck! I found a lot of the collection here: http://www.vanharen.nl but not those actual boots.

Are you sure those boots are vegan though? I mean, glue and stuff?

Loving the boots, and its definitely ok to wear white after labor day, especially if its “winter” white!

I was about 9 when Evil Dead came out, and my sister would have been 7. Somehow we got it on video (VHS) and watched it a couple of times over a weekend. I barely slept for a week!
