So last night our quiet, intimate expat blogger meetup turned into a somewhat bigger event- with quite a few more bloggers and a LOT more noise! Success!
Apparently bloggers like to talk in person as much as we like to blog! Who didn’t see that one coming…
Apologies for the crappy video and subpar photos, but it’s all I got for you. Several people are missing from my photos- so sorry guys! I should have taken a few more shots. The others might have some better photos on their blogs…
The bloggers in attendance:
- Angela from Amsterdamned
- John from John Does Amsterdam
- Haley from Texaantje
- Anita from Greetings from Holland
- Hannah from Jandals
- Jason from Hanson World
- Andy from Andy in Amsterdam
- Lizzy from Lizzy Goes Dutch
- Pat & Steph from the aptly named blog, Pat&Steph
- and of course myself.
In fact it was such a success that I didn’t even get to spend time talking to several people that I was sitting away from and had really been wanting to see, and others that I talked to but not for nearly as long as I would have liked, so there will be some catch up drinks in the near future. As well as another blogger meetup!

Cafe Gollem (Belgian Beer Bar)

more

more

even more

and there you go.
So if you missed this one, fret not! We’ll do this again. It was too much fun not to!
Also tucked away in a corner were several partners of bloggers, who declared that they were going to start their own support group for Partners of Bloggers.

Bloggers and those that love them...

Partners of Bloggers Support Group.
Ah, Bloggers and Those That Love Them. I’m sure it can’t be easy being blogged about constantly, so cheers to them for being such good sports about it all.
Anyway, it was fantastic to put faces behind the names, and if I had any fears beforehand that bloggers would be tight-arsed, hard-to-speak-to narcissists, those fears were banished. They were actually….alright.
Oh, hell who am I kidding? They were all fantastic! At the end of the night I wanted to hug each one night and lick their cheeks instead of the standard Dutch 3-kiss goodbye. But I restrained myself (this was a first meeting after all), and said goodbye to everyone sans licking.
But next time…..
Thanks all for a lovely night! <3

So on a whim I just entered “oranjeflamingo” before wordpress in the URL bar, and BOOM! You have a blog!!! You should link your name to your blog so that people can follow you back to your blog!
…unless you’re trying to be anonymous, in which case sorry!!!
And next time come around to our meetup!

I do have a blog.
I don’t know why the link isn’t working. It’s been driving me crazy. We’ll see if my latest attempt works. *fingers crossed*

HUGE success ! I heard from Andy that he was there until midnight. Sorry that I had to leave so early… By the way, I just stole some pictures of you.

I’m sorry you had to leave so early too! And you were in the far corner with Angela and Jason- I didn’t get a chance to speak to any of you!
Next time though!

Hey Amanda! Just wanted to say thanks for planning the get together – and for inviting me. I had a blast and I thought everyone was super nice! Can’t wait to do it again and get to talk to more people.

Man, I wish I knew bloggers around me. All the people on my role live light years away. I definitely wouldn’t mind drinking a few beers with them.

Yeah, pretty much a perfect world for me would be to have all my favorite bloggers within drinking distance of eachother. If only….

Thanks for the invite the other night Amanda. It’s great to meet the people behind the stories we read.

Likewise! Your El Camino story had me hooked yesterday! It’s on my to-do list for sure now!
